REEL

Visual artist Maria Leonidou, performing artist Lia Haraki and sound designer Yiannis Christofides come together to construct a visual and sound installation of an alien/ uncanny world with its own unique codes and rules. Reel is a universe made of five sounding videos of virtual sculptures which the viewer can experience.

It is a work that was developed during the Covid-19 lockdown period, which was also the period of considerable revelations in relation to corruption, injustice and abuse by the Cyprus political system. The three artists, inspired and moved by people’s demonstrations demanding justice and peace, created a piece about the importance of resistance.
