THE DECK OF GROWTH
Collective reading
The Deck of Growth collective reading is an interactive performance of a card reading session in a group, where Lia guides the audience to collectively decide on the values, drives and principles they choose as a group which happened to be in the space in the specific moment, through interactive playful ways. Having her very unique and special deck of growth as the initial element of the experience, Lia begins the process by inviting the audience to choose a card each from the deck. Several interactive tasks follow, like the drawing of the tree of values, a collective meditation, and several sharings from the audience. The night concludes with a live song Lia performs on the spot based on the words chosen.
The experience makes strangers become closer by the end of the night, having shared so much more than a liive performance since they have exchanged, heard and commented on what is important both to them and to others.
My presence in the room during the interactive experience is of an energetic embrace, making space for all taht is needed to be understood and felt within the group, at the specific moment in time.
About the Deck of growth and this performance
The deck of Growth is not a usual deck of cards. It is a deck I created during a five-year healing journey, where I attempted to answer the question ‘ what is important in life ’. The deck consists of 200 cards, each with one word describing a value, drive, or principle that may be very or somewhat important in someone’s life.
Up till recently, I used the deck for one-on-one readings, and in 2024, I attempted to open up the reading in the form of a collective reading during a show called ‘A Creative Process called Life’ . The experience really worked and so I decided to develop this section as an interactive performance in itself.
