READING THE PERFORMANCE AND PERFORMING THE BOOK
2024
For the last two years we have been creating a book about the works that Lia and her team of collaborators presented from 2003 to 2023. The idea of the book is to speak about how the bodies featured in it experience an ephemeral art form that ends immediately after its presentation. That would be the voices and views of the performers, the academics, the collaborators, the audience members and the journalists.
Our performance ‘Reading the Performance and Performing the book’ is in relation to the process of making the book , where its content was recycled into a new performance work. On stage was Lia Haraki with the editor of the book Erica Charalambous and Lia’s oldest collaborator, technical manager Yiangos Hadjiyiannis. The performers were responding, remembering, reacting, and sharing like living archives.
