SKIN
2015
SKIN is
A tribute to vulnerability
A test of trust
A safe place to feel
The piece is part of the artist's research on how Art can be an Act of Service. Skin is a physical experience for one spectator / participant who enters a journey of listening and sensing. During the performance experience, the whole body acts as a gate of perception, receiving information mostly through touch and sound, which triggers an inner playground of sensations, emotions and ideas to evolve. The work allows the participant to come in contact with a vulnerable and sensitive part of themselves by allowing the piece to impact their existence, even momentarily. The performers in Skin are never seen or announced, allowing the work to exist exclusively in the perception and imagination of the spectator. Skin is a journey of care in a safe environment where individuals trust their existence to others for a while.
